Our Story
We are the Martinez family, and we are from Jacksonville, Florida. God called us to get involved in what He is doing in Szczecin, Poland. This has been a long process that started when we were both teenagers, and has developed through the years. We can see God’s hand molding and preparing us for exactly what He had prepared for us.
Lemuel was born in the Dominican Republic in 1984. He grew up there and moved to Jacksonville in 2005. Lemuel is a graduate of Trinity Baptist College and has served at Trinity Baptist Church in multiple capacities since moving to Jacksonville. Lemuel currently attends Kairos University for his Master of Arts in Biblical Intercultural Studies.
God has provided them a unique opportunity to partner with pastor Robert Merecz at Szczecin Baptist Church. They currently serve by 1- Helping start an evangelical center for eastern Europe that will raise up and train leaders to reach Poland and the surrounding countries, 2- Planting an International Church that serves and reaches to the many English Speakers in the town from the universities and the NATO Base, and 3- Discipling students and the next generation of leaders.
They have partnered with Converge’s 15:5 West Initiative which is praying to catalyze gospel movements in the 15 largest cities of Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia that would also place gospel communities in 5 unreached villages around each city. Converge IM through its initiative provides guidance, and vision, and accountability which is much needed to continue doing the work God has called them to do in Poland.
Brittany is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. She has attended Trinity Baptist Church all of her life. Brittany served in nursery, Awanas, youth camp, and as Oakleaf’s Campus Nursery/Pre-school Director before jumping into missionary ministry. She is a stay-at-home mom and homeschools their 3 children (Ethan, Landon, and Catherine).
